Inspired by the 19th Century “thick journals” such as Alexander Pushkin’s The Contemporary [Sovremennik], the official blog of the Havighurst Center for East European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies will feature interviews, articles, op-eds, and other pieces that spotlight the Center’s focus and activities. The New Contemporary will primarily feature student pieces, offering a platform for Miami students to publish articles about Eastern Europe, Russia, and Central Asia. The blog is edited by Stephen Norris, Professor of History.
