I am pleased to announce that Lauren Forrest has been selected as the 2018-19 Dissertation Scholar for the department. Lauren’s dissertation, under the direction of April Smith, will examine the role of interoception (the ability to detect and become cognitively aware of the sensations present in the body) in differentiating among those with suicidal self-injurious behaviors, non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors, and healthy controls.
