Relatively new to Miami is a diversity and inclusion website that will serve as a central hub of diversity-related topics. The new initiative calls members of the Miami community to work together to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all Miamians.

The website currently features upcoming events, data, demographics, news stories, information about the Miami tribe, and ways to get involved, but is evolving and welcomes new content as it grows. It also features the One Miami Campus Climate Survey designed to evaluate the experience of the current campus climate by all members of the Miami community. Make sure to take the survey if you haven’t already!

With the tagline of “One Miami,” the new website strives to cultivate a community where everyone can give their input and feel safe in doing so. The site even features the Code of Love and Honor on its front page, so students and faculty can refresh themselves on the mission of Miami.

This week provides two opportunities for you to see Love and Honor AND One Miami in action.

It’s On Us

It’s On Us is a campaign to raise awareness about and prevent sexual assault on college campuses. There will be a table in Armstrong all week where you can sign a pledge to recognize and speak out against sexual assault. Check out all the events they have going on this week!

Out Week

Presented by Spectrum, Miami’s LGBT* student organization, Out Week celebrates members of the LGBT* Miami community and their allies. Building on last week’s National Coming Out Day, there are free events every day this week!

The new initiative to promote diversity and inclusivity on Miami’s campus is not something we should strive to achieve just this week, but always.

We may be many voices, but we are one Miami!
