With the new year starting, Miami Activities and Programming (MAP) has been hard at work planning a full calendar of events so you can spend your weekends watching the newest movies, traveling to Cincinnati for Kings Island, and heading to Millett for a comedy show!

We are bringing back some of our signature events and partnerships this fall, so mark your calendars because you won’t want to miss out on some of the biggest events of the semester…

Welcome Home with MAP

Fireworks show over Benton Hall
Welcome home with MAP ends with a spectacular fireworks show.

This Welcome Weekend, join MAP for one of their biggest events of the year on Friday night, Welcome Home! This event kicks off the school year welcoming the incoming new students to Miami. Welcome Home is attended by nearly 3,000 students and provides entertaining ways to get acquainted with campus and meet other students. From roller skating to succulent planting to dodgeball on Cook Field, there is something for everyone. We’ll end the night with a fireworks show behind Benton Hall. This is a perfect way to make Miami feel like home!

Art After Dark

Art After Dark is back! On Friday, Sept. 13, it’s your time to get creative trying a whole lot of arts and crafts, including sculpture, coloring, figure drawing, Chinese calligraphy, origami, collage, button making, book binding, beads and threads, knitting, and paint your own pottery – all while listening to live acoustic music and eating homemade gourmet popcorn!
