The cold is creeping up on campus! We recently had a question come in on our @MiamiOH_StudentLife Instagram account about the best winter coats and we asked students to submit their favorites. Here are some useful tips to stay warm along with winter coat brand suggestions submitted by your peers!

Get the Right Size
Choosing the right size for your winter coat is extremely important, especially since it will likely get much colder on campus as we approach winter break. A good-sized winter coat is ideally one that lets you layer up underneath comfortably. Besides keeping you warm, layering can also help you reasonably stay cozy even when you need to take off your coat as you enter campus buildings.
Know Your Taste
There are tons of winter coats out there, with many different colors, materials, and designs. Do some research to figure out which general style YOU prefer. This will also help shopping for one easier.
Set Your Budget
Undoubtedly, you can get an inexpensive winter coat that’s fairly good. Consider whether you’ll be fine with a cheaper coat that may not last as long, or a more expensive coat that’s built to last. Decide how much you’re willing to spend and then stick with it!
