In honor of Black History Month, we decided to highlight a few of the inclusive and diverse clubs offered on campus. These organizations celebrate black art, tradition, culture, and history. If you are interested in learning more about each of these organizations, check them out on the Hub!
ASU aims to be the prime representative of the African continent on campus. They challenge the stereotypical image attached to Africa while raising a platform for people to critically hold discussions. ALL students are encouraged to join! They hold weekly meetings and put on phenomenal events such as Taste of Africa in November!
The Black President’s Caucus operates on the four pillars of academia, philanthropy, professionalism, and social. They strive to increase overall GPA of African-American students through programs such as peer tutoring and. Socially, the organization holds an annual student/faculty mixer to give students an opportunity to network. Join the club to experience how they achieve their other foundational pillars.
Black Student Action Association (BSAA)
BSAA was the first multicultural organization on campus! Formed by African American students at Miami University, their mission was to increase Black representation on campus for the purpose of bettering the conditions of students. The organization hosts social, professional development, and advocacy events all year round! In addition to fun events like their annual Homecoming Dance, they also strongly believe in giving back to the community.

BWE members hold discussions and community outreach events in regard to identity struggles and the legacy of black women. The organization encourages members to seek social justice, cross-cultural alliances, and freedom for all backgrounds. To join, send an email to bwe1809@gmail.com.
Miami University National Black Law Student Association
The purpose of this organization is to articulate and promote the educational, professional, political, social needs and goals of black pre-law students. They strive to open doors and open minds to the vast multitude of possibilities for those interested in law school and professions that follow. Join this student org to be apart of a nationally recognized organization!
Diversity Affairs Council (DAC)
DAC is committed to improving the environment of respect for diversity at Miami University and learning more about diversity in its complexities by exposing themselves to new experiences. DAC is an affiliated student organization with the Office of Diversity Affairs, and serves as an umbrella organization for diverse orgs. If your organization is a “diverse” organization, then you have the option has registering as a DAC Member Organization. Membership comes with leadership development, networking opportunities with other organizations as well as funding.
