It’s already the end of April and we’ve just now finally left winter behind us for good *knock on wood*. With the days getting longer and sunnier, and no snow now for over a week (!), we are finally gearing up for summer. We’ve just got to get through the next three weeks.  With the change in seasons comes a change in music. Here’s a playlist to help get you going on your walk to class!

Swim – Valley

Valley’s most streamed song, Swim, starts off slow and builds to chorus you just want to get up and dance to! They also just re-released a new version of the song.

In Undertow – Alvvays

Fresh off their newest album, “In Undertow” begins with a nostalgic 80s synth vibe and is just generally an upbeat jam.

Don’t Wait – Mapei

While a few years old, Mapei’s “Don’t Wait” remains fresh and exciting with its tribal sounding beat and dissonant harmonies. Check out the remix to hear a verse by Chance the Rapper!

Water – Ra Ra Riot

This rhythmic song by Ra Ra Riot, Water, will have you wanting to “jump into the water” on your way to class.

One of Us – New Politics

One of Us” is a fun song to remind you to enjoy the last few weeks of Miami for the year (or for good) and to celebrate your friends!

Feel It Still – Portugal. The Man

The award winning “Feel It Still” may have come out back in 2017 but it’s the kind of song that just doesn’t get old. There’s a reason it has a Grammy!

I’m Stuck – Noah Cyrus

Stepping out from the shadows of her older sister Miley, Noah Cyrus’ “I’m Stuck” gives off pop-country vibes that were made for sunny days.

Sunflower – The Weepies

The Weepies are known for their gentle, acoustic sound and “Sunflower” is the perfect sweet and springy song.

Whole Wide World – Cage The Elephant

Cage The Elephant’s cover of Wreckless Eric’s 1978 hit “Whole Wide World” has a steady beat and and a rich acoustic sound that goes so well with spring sun.

Shotgun – George Ezra

“Budapest” was the song of the summer a few years ago and George Ezra is back with a fresh new album. “Shotgun” is perfect for the days you’re “riding shotgun underneath the hot sun.”

With warm weather comes a lot of fun, but make sure to keep in mind that while the sun puts everyone in a good mood, you could still get ticketed for trash or noise violations. Respect your neighbors and enjoy these warm weather tunes!
