Does anyone feel like the semester just started? Believe it or not, there are fewer than six weeks left until the end of this school year! For many, it’s the busiest time of the year, which makes it hard to pencil in time for fun activities. We tried to make it easier by gathering some of the big events coming up so you can mark your calendars!
Mosaic – Wednesday, April 11
MOSAIC is a diversity and identity experience through art hosted in partnership with the Diversity Affairs Council, Office of Residence Life, Office of Diversity Affairs, and Student Success Center. This event will showcase student visual art and performances – scheduled and open mic.
Octets – Wednesday – Saturday, April 11-14
Octets is a brand new musical written and directed by two Miami students! Tickets are free but need to be reserved ahead of time! If you want to see more theater, check out Stage Left’s production of First Date April 26-28 and the Theater Department’s production of Tartuffe May 2-6!
Bagel and Deli Competition – Friday, April 13
Now is your chance to design your own bagel. Bagel and Deli staff will be on hand to judge the entries – and winners may have their bagel creation sold at Bagel and Deli uptown!
Inclusionfest – Saturday, April 14
Inclusion Fest is a spring festival but is focused on providing an inclusive and accessible experience for all. The event will start with the Best Buddies Friendship Walk, followed by an address from the Crawford’s, live performances from student groups, art and animal therapy, outdoor activities, and opportunities to learn about community and student groups promoting inclusion in our community.
Interfaith Fest – Sunday, April 15
Enjoy free food and entertainment by student and community groups on the main stage, as you browse information tables for student groups representing a variety of religious, secular, and spiritual perspectives. There will be arts and crafts, door prizes, and community fellowship.
Rockin’ Road to Dublin – Friday, April 20
Rockin’ Road to Dublin is the new sensation changing the Irish Dance world. A fusion of rock and Irish dance, Rockin’ Road brings together the best of both worlds to create what some call a rocked-out Riverdance. Get more information through the Performing Arts Series.

RedHawk Hunt – Friday, April 20
The annual Redhawk Hunt is an interactive, campus-wide scavenger hunt that happens overnight each spring. This year’s event starts at 9pm on Friday April 20 and runs until 3am on Saturday morning. Teams of 10-12 venture into all areas of Miami to discover and complete a series of tasks. Be sure to register ahead of time!
SpringFest – Saturday, April 21
Join MAP for a day of free food, games, rides, prizes, and way more on Academic Quad!
Oxford Community EarthFest 2018 – April 21
Come celebrate Earth Day with the Oxford community in Uptown Park from 10am to 1pm. EarthFest is a collaborative effort between Miami University and the community to come together and promote efforts to teach how natural environments function and how human beings can manage behavior and ecosystems to live sustainably. Additionally, it teaches how the environment pertains to our community partners and how imperative it is their everyday work/making our community a better, safer, and healthier place to live.
House of Prayer: Gospel Fest Concert – Sunday, April 22
The 47th (!!!) Annual Gospel Fest Concert will be held on Sunday, April 22nd at 2pm in the Armstrong Student Center (doors open at 1:30).
Love. Honor. Pride Parade. – Saturday, April 28
Join in the march for at the upcoming Pride Parade! Meet at the seal!
Library Game Night – Saturday, May 5
Come by between 6pm and 12 am for free food and the opportunity to join others and play strategy / tabletop, board, and card games. These informal events are great for both beginners and experienced players. Just pull up a chair and join in the fun!
Senior Send-Off – Thursday, May 10
Attention all graduating seniors! Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF) will be having a celebration for current seniors before they graduate from 4-6pm in the Armtsrong Pavilion. There will be picnic style food, outdoor games, free give aways, photo booth, guest speakers, and more! It will be a great way for seniors to get together and have fun before they graduate.
ShareFest – Wednesday, May 16 – Tuesday, May 22
ShareFest is a week-long collection and redistribution of items donated by Miami University students and the Oxford community at the end of the academic year. Collected items benefit residents in need and social service agencies throughout the region. ShareFest volunteers will pick up students’ unwanted, reusable items in good condition, including:
- Small appliances (microwaves, toasters, coffee makers, etc.)
- Sofas, chairs, tables, dressers
- Mattresses & box springs (accepting a limited number)
- Lamps, mirrors, bulletin boards
- Laptop computers, TVs (flat screen HDTVs only)
- Kitchenware
- Housewares
- Clothing, blankets, sheets
- Non-perishable food
Items Not Needed
- Items in poor condition
- Bed pillows
- Mattress pads, foam toppers
- Filing cabinets
- Printers
- Sofa beds
