Anonymous (Iran), Jill Sarver

Born in Bowling Green, Ohio Jill Sarver received her MFA in Painting from Western Connecticut State University, MA in Painting and Drawing from Eastern Illinois University, and BFA in Painting and BA in Spanish from Miami University (Ohio). Along with her studio practice, Jill is Deputy Director with Rome Art Program, a New York-based educational nonprofit in Rome, Italy. She has curated independent exhibitions and taught art education throughout the Midwest and New York metro area.

Using ‘anonymous’ portraiture as a vehicle for expression, this painting is a visual response to U.S. threatened destruction of Iranian cultural heritage sites.
