Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of varying methods of sexual education by utilizing rates of unwanted teen pregnancies and STD prevalence.
Methods: 10 high level research articles were utilized to gather information on state and federal sexual education policies and individual reporting of education receipt.
Results: More research on this topic would be greatly beneficial. There are multiple variances in the methods of delivery of education as well as topics covered.
Conclusion: Having such variance in methods and topics covered makes it more difficult to gather conclusions on the effectiveness of sexual education. More research is necessary to gather a definitive answer as to which methods are the most effective based on the number of unwanted teen pregnancies and STD prevalence.
