Voting

Q: Can we register to vote on campus?

A: Yes! We’ll have paper forms available in Armstrong and other campus locations, plus info on how to register online. Ohio changed voting ID laws last year; try our Voting Navigator to see what your options are!

Q: How do I vote as an out-of-state student?

A: There are so many different “it depends” answers to this question. Find answers for your specific situation at Miami’s Voting Navigator!

Q: Where do I go online to register to vote in Ohio and abstain from home if I’m out of state?

A: You need an Ohio Drivers License or Ohio ID Card to register to vote online. If you don’t have either of these, you need to register on a paper form. You can print one out at VoteOhio.Gov or get one from the Armstrong Circle Desk! If you are already registered to vote in your home state and want to vote in Ohio, go to your home state’s Secretary of State website to cancel your registration.

Q: Where should we expect our absentee ballots to go (mailbox in dorm or package center)?

A: You should expect your absentee ballot in your residence hall mailbox. If you have requested an absentee ballot, be sure to check your mailbox every day until you receive your ballot! You can track your ballot in Ohio using this link.
