10 Social Media Accounts Miami Students Should Follow

As you start your 2020-21 academic year, think about following some Miami social media accounts to stay in the loop. You probably already know to follow the main @MiamiUniversity accounts on social media. But there are so many more that can provide a ton of great information.

1. Miami University Student Life

Okay, this one might be biased – but we have to plug our own accounts, right?! The Student Life social accounts are geared toward incoming and current Miami students, and often include campus photos, a weekly student org spotlight, videos about current topics, upcoming deadlines, giveaways, safety tips/advice and a behind-the-scenes look at what matters to students.

2. Associated Student Government (ASG)

With over 100 events every semester, MAP’s social media will keep you updated on the weekly events created specifically for Miami students by Miami students. From ticket sales for comedians to karaoke in the Red Zone, MAP is always programming for students. This year, you’ll see a lot of virtual events to start the semester as well!

If you really want to experience Love and Honor on your timeline, following President Crawford and Dr. Crawford is a must. The Crawfords are very active on their Twitter accounts, from event updates to fun facts about Miami.

If you are already involved in greek life or if you’re planning to go through recruitment this year, you should definitely be following the Cliff Alexander Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life on social! They’ll keep you informed of deadlines, upcoming events, changes, and more.

The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion implements programs and activities to enhance the development of diverse student populations. Follow them for updates on upcoming programs and educational tools and resources.

9. Miami Dean of Students

The Dean of Students (Dr. Kimberly Moore) regularly posts safety tips, reminders for deadlines, links to important events, and more on her Twitter account. This is a great account to follow if you are on an executive board on campus as well as if you are just interested in staying up to date on deadlines!

Most of the academic divisions have their own social media accounts. Find yours and follow for academic-related updates, changes, and more! We’ve linked Instagram accounts here, but you can find most on Twitter with the same username as well!
