April 19, 2017 | No Comments

Well seniors, you made it! Less than one month left until graduation. Are there still things that you wish you could do before you leave Oxford? Anything that you want to cross of of your bucket list? Here are some suggestions to make the most of your final weeks in Oxford!

As you cross items off of this bucket list – and any of your own – in this last month of college, share your photos with the hashtag #MiamiOHgrad.

  1. Go to a Late Night Miami event – Late Night Miami brings in talented musicians, craft projects, movies, and many more fun activities! It’s only been around for about a year or two, so even if it hasn’t been a cornerstone of your experience, check it out and see for yourself before graduation.K11516 Late Night Craft-Hand Lettering

  3. Go to a sports game – It’s your last chance to show your Redhawk spirit as a student! You can still catch a few baseball games this season, and don’t forget to come back as an alum to support your teams next year.Exterior of Yager Stadium
  4. Eat at your favorite dining hall from first year – If it’s still around! See if your favorite foods then are still your favorite now.People eating in the dining hall
  5. Have coffee with an acquaintance friend – Share a cup of coffee or just some quality time with the folks you don’t see every day. While you’ll probably stay in touch after graduation with your roommates and closest friends, there’s still time to get to know a few others to solidify a friendship before leaving Miami.People posing together at a dining table
  6. Visit the therapy dogs – Pop-in to see these adorable therapy dogs before you miss the chance! Every Monday from 2 pm to 3 pm in the Student Counseling Center. A dog

  8. Take pictures of Miami’s campus – Soak up Miami’s beautiful campus. Try taking pictures at sunset near Cook Field or Academic quad. Trust us, you’ll miss those beautiful views when you can’t see them every day!Sun Dial
  9. Thank your professor – Before you leave, thank your professor or an administrator for job well done. You probably know of at least a few staff or faculty members who really contributed to your learning or growth as a person. Like anyone else, they appreciate hearing when their hard work has made a difference for students.A person talking and people listening
  10. Jump on the seal – Once you’ve finished all your exams, do what everyone else avoids at Miami: jump on the seal! (Just hope it doesn’t affect you if you’re headed to graduate school!)Miami Hub Seal
  11. Go rock climbing at the Rec – For all those years that you’ve gone to the Rec Center and said “I have to do that one day” – it’s time to do it! There’s no better time than the present; sign up for a class if you’re ready to check it off the list!People doing rock climbing
  12. Play broomball – Miami is known for it’s strange obsession with the sport of Broomball. Give it a try and keep the experience as a story to tell your friends and family. If it’s too late to join a team, at least go watch a game or two!People playing hockey
  13. Go to your favorite restaurant one last time! Is there a place in Oxford that you don’t think you could go without eating one last time? Do it! You won’t regret it!

  14. Decorate your grad cap! You’ve worked hard at Miami and now is your chance to celebrate your accomplishment. Put a creative or personal spin on your grad cap – it will help your family and friends in the graduation audience find you. And it’s a great photo -op!
