Top 10 Moments from Family Weekend 2016
Family Weekend 2016 was one of the best weekends yet of the semester! From September 30th through October 1st, there was so much to see and do! Here is our pick of the top 10 moments from this year’s Family Weekend.
1. Battle of the Brick’s (Miami vs. OU) Football Game
Although the Redhawks didn’t bring home a win, the game was still a fantastic time for all!
2. Tailgate
Family members, old and young, were able tailgate at Millet before the game!
3. The Farmer’s Market Uptown
Families were able to support local businesses while enjoying fresh product, chocolate, live music, and art!
4. Wayne Brady Live!
Wayne Brady, famous comedian from Whose Line is it Anyway?, had the audience laughing during his comedy show!
5. Miami University Marching Band Concert
Families enjoyed a free concert before kickoff!
6. Apple Butter Festival
Music, fun, food, and crafts! Hueston Woods hosted the annual Apple Butter Festival this past weekend that took everyone back to life on the farm during the 19th century.
7. Bagel and Deli
When alumni are back, Bagel and Deli is a must! Students and their parents enjoyed this classic late night eat together!
8. Ice Skating
Goggin Ice Center hosted free ice skating for the whole family!
9. Tours Around Campus
Students show off Miami’s beautiful campus to their younger siblings and family members! Redhawks in the making!
10. Brunch & Auction with President Greg Crawford
Students and their families were able to enjoy a great brunch buffet, bid on a variety of items from gift baskets to golf clubs, all while supporting Miami University student scholarships.
