Sticking Around for Fall Break?
Not everyone leaves for Fall Break, so if you’re staying on campus and wondering what you can do to fill your time here is the list for you!
1- Go hiking at Hueston Woods
The weather this weekend will be perfect to spend your time outdoors! Check out the hiking trails at Hueston Woods State Park!
2- Try a new restaurant Uptown
Tired of cooking in your residence hall or eating the same dining hall meals? Oxford has so many great restaurants Uptown to try, and you can beat the wait over Fall Break. Check out Trip Advisor’s Top Restaurants in Oxford to get some ideas.
3- Work out at the Rec Center without waiting in line
Break a sweat and get active at the Rec! With many students gone for break, chances are you won’t have to wait in line for equipment.
4- Take a hayride and do a corn maze at Butterfield’s Farm
Going to Butterfield’s Farm is a great fall activity for Miami students! You can take a hayride, feed cows, run through a corn maze, and buy homemade goods such as pumpkin cookies and caramel apples! This is a must!
5- Have a movie marathon!
Nothing is better than a long movie marathon. Break out the Netflix or DVDs to watch your favorite films. With Halloween coming up, why not have a scary movie marathon! Or watch other fall classics like Halloweentown and Hocus Pocus.
6- Check out “Second Friday” at the Oxford Community Arts Center.
On the second Friday of the month (including Friday, October 14 during Fall Break), the Oxford Community Arts Center opens its doors between 6 and 9 pm for a free concert and artist exhibitions.
7- Check out the Farmers Market
Every Saturday morning there is a farmer’s market by Uptown Park! Come buy fresh produce, homemade goods, and other seasonal items all while supporting local businesses and farmers.
8- Explore Western campus or the Formal Gardens
Miami’s campus is said to be most beautiful in the fall. Take a walk around campus and get some fresh air while exploring the beauty of Miami University. If you’ve never been to western campus or to the formal gardens, you have to check out these picture perfect spots!
