Even though some of your friends aren’t here, being in Oxford over the summer is a fun and exciting experience! Whether you are taking classes or interning for a department on campus, there are lots of opportunities to enjoy Oxford over the summer. Take a look below at some of the events happening in town over the next couple of months.

Summer Concert Series

There’s nothing better than listening to live music in the summer. Thankfully, there is a free concert in Uptown Park everything Thursday from now until September. This week’s band is The SunBuners, an island party band from Cincinnati. Check out the full list of bands performing throughout the summer here: https://www.enjoyoxford.org/this-week-in-oxford/oxford-ohios-summer-music-2018/.

Yoga in the Park

Looking for a free exercise class this summer? You can attend a yoga class in Uptown Park every Saturday morning from 9am – 10am for free. Bring your own yoga mat and all ages are welcome. Don’t forget to stop by the Farmer’s Market afterwards!

Farmer’s Market

Enjoy fresh produce and shop local in Uptown Park on Saturdays from 8am – 12pm! The Farmer’s Market is a great way to interact with Oxford residents and to stock your kitchen with fresh food. You can find a full list of vendors and other information about the Farmer’s market here: http://oxfordfarmersmarket.com/home/.

PiYo in Uptown Park

Yoga isn’t your thing? Try out a PiYo class instead! PiYo is a combination of Pilates and Yoga, and there is a free class offered in Uptown Park every Tuesday from 6pm – 7pm. PiYo is a workout suitable for everyone, so bring your yoga mat and give it a try!

Hueston Woods

Just a short distance outside of town, Hueston Woods is a large state park with trails, a lake and lodging. Another great option is Brookville Lake, which has trails and attractions for those hot summer days. Get a group of friends together and spend a day outdoors in the beautiful Oxford weather.

Other Activities

Still looking for activities to fill your time? Take a stroll uptown and visit the local businesses (no lines!). Enjoy the relatively new bike trails around campus. And always check out the Enjoy Oxford calendar for additional events around Oxford over the summer.

Enjoy your time in Oxford this summer, because the fall semester will be here before you know it!
