Club Sports Weekly Update 04/09-04/015

Baseball: Lost to Ohio State

Men’s Ultimate: Came in 6th place in Sectionals

Miami Skating: Finished 4th at Intercollegiate Nationals

Rowing: Home regatta at Hueston Woods. Hosted 8 teams.

Broomball: Finished 3rd at Nationals after losing in the semifinals

Quidditch: Attended Quidich National Tournament. Made it to sweet 16.

Women’s Volleyball: Won Silver Bracket in Division 1AAA of National Tournament.

Tennis: Completed in USTA Tennis on Campus Nationals. Placed 4th in the copper bracket.

Running: Went to NIRCA Track and Field Nationals, Robby Alexander claimed All-American for 4th place in the 5K.

Men’s volleyball: Completed in National Club Volleyball Tournament. Finished with a 7-1 record, placed 3rd in the country.

Club Sports Update 04/02/18-04/08/18

BOXING – WE HAVE A NATIONAL CHAMP!!!!! Adan Salguero won the tournament at 139lbs and won Outstanding Boxer of the tournament. 4 of the 5 boxers were All-American winners. Jake Isele lost in the quarterfinals, Harold Rogers lost in the semi-finals, Parker Brown & Ryan Adelson lost in the finals. The team took 3rd place in the whole tournament.

Dance Team – Placed 5th in the Nation in Team Performance 1A at NDA Nationals!

Women’s Ultimate Frisbee – Came in 2nd at their home tournament

Women’s Water Polo – Played four games in St. Louis, playing well against GVSU, ND, LU, and lost a close game with ISU in overtime.

Men’s Lacrosse – Played two games at UK and beat Xavier 12-5, and lost to Kentucky 6-4.

Equestrian – Dressage Team qualified for Nationals and are Champions of the Region! Hunt Seat Zones had Haley Hacala place 6th, Alissa Martin place 5th, and Kelly O’Bryan place 3rd.

Broomball – Unrestricted went 3-0-1 in their home Nationals Show Case. Later games in the weekend in Cinci – Co-Ed won 3-2, and Unrestricted won 3-1 in their semi-final game.

Swimming – Went to nationals and was in the top 60 of 120 teams, and broke 17 team records (including a team record sweep of all 10 relays).

Rugby – Got 3rd place in the St. Louis Ruggerfest.

 

Club Sports Weekly Update 02/05-02/11

Women’s D1 Hockey.  Beat ASU 4-0and 10-1

Table Tennis: Regional tournament in Toledo Finished 5th overall

Men’s volleyball competed at Xavier University for a conference playdate.

Roller Hockey Beat Ohio State6-3 and 7-2 and Michigan 12-6, Lost Akron 7-3.

Equestrian Hunt seat Team got 1st on Saturday and 3rd on Sunday at Otterbein.

Men’s Hockey D2 Beat Lindenwood University 2-1 on Friday and lost 40 on Saturday.

Skating: The Intercollegiate Figure Skating Team placed second overall at the Golden Gopher Challenge in Minnesota.

Club Sports Update 11/27-12/03

Miami University Club Bowling attended a tournament in Toledo. Kyle Berger finished 15th. The team placed 10th overall.

The Intercollegiate Synchronized Skating Team went to the Dr. Richard Porter Classic in Ann Arbor, MI and placed 5th out of 11 teams!

Women’s D1 Hockey beat Davenport on Saturday 3-2 and Sunday 7-3!

Men’s D2 Hockey beat Toledo 5-2 and 8-5.

Equestrian’s Hunt Seat Team brought selected riders to compete at the National Holiday Tournament of Champions and placed 4th out of 20 teams!

Miami University Women’s Club Basketball traveled to OSU for an overnight tournament. They lost to OSU in a good game. They also played Indiana University’s A and B teams and John Caroll.

Club Sports Update 11/20-11/26

Miami University Club Bowling attended the Striking Knights Classic in Louisville, Kentucky. The team finished the highest they’ve ever finished in a tournament and two individual bowlers posted their best scores. Miami Bowling team finished in 9th place. Individually, Kyle Berger finished 15th and Ben Roth finished 23rd.

Miami University Boxing Club had 2 boxers travel to the New York City Athletic Club Show: Ryan Adelson and Adan Salguero. Ryan lost a tough close match against Army. Adan won a good match against Navy.

Club Sports Update 11/13-11/19

Miami University Roller Hockey had a home event. They went 2-1 defeating Ohio State 6-3 and Michigan 12-0. They fell to Akron 7-4. They are first in their conference!

Fencing attended a tournament in the Columbus area. 3 members placed in the top 8 competitors: 3rd place Brandon Yang, 5th place Landon Braemer, and 6th place Nicky Nocerino.

Miami University Club Broomball Team Unrestricted won their league championship with a 3-2 win over the Dayton Bombers. Max Warr (2) and Austin Smart scared, and Mike Dzoba (2) and Seth Wise had the assists.

Miami University Men’s Club Soccer competed in the National Championship Tournament in Phoenix, AZ. The team tied against UNC-Greensboro 1-1, lost a hard fought game to UCLA 3-2, and finished the tournament with a 2-0 win against Cornell.

Men’s Hockey D2 beat Louisville 6-2 on Friday and 7-3 on Saturday.

Women’s Club Volleyball had a tournament at the University of Dayton. They placed 3rd out of 17 teams!

Women’s Hockey D1 lost Friday 3-1 but won on Saturday 3-1 against Lindenwood.

Club Sports Update 11/06-11/12

 Men’s Volleyball competed in the Michigan State hardwood invitational. They made it to the semis in the silver bracket.

Men’s Hockey D3 split their two game series against the second ranked University of Michigan-Flint. They lost 5-0 Friday and won 2-1 on Saturday!

Miami University Club Football lost in the conference championship to Coppin State in overtime 22-16 after an amazing season.

Miami University Paintball Club competed in the MICT event at O’Hare Paintball in Chicago. They made it to the quarter finals and played the number one seeded Wisconsin. They lost 2-1. They ended up in 6th place out of 20 teams.

Broomball played in the Mid-Atlantic Broomball Tournament. They won 4-1, 4-1, and 6-0 in pool play. They won 2-1 in semifinals and then lost 1-5 in the championship. Unrestricted won league semi-finals 5-0.

The Intercollegiate Ice Skating Team finished 2nd at the Bronco Challenge Cup in Kalamazoo, MI. They finished with 78 points in total.

Men’s Hockey D2 played Akron and won 19-0 on Friday and 10-2 on Saturday.

Rowing competed in Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga, TN. Women’s 4+ took silver in the Women’s College & Club 4+. John Misey took bronze in the Men’s Novice Novice 1x.

Boxing had 3 boxers compete at Lock Haven University’s Fall Brawl. Adan Salguero won his bout, Jack Cross lost by a close split decision, and Josh Schmitt had a tough match and lost.

Running attended the NIRCA cross country nationals in East Lansing, MI. They had 3 people place in the top 30 in the championship race, earning second team All-American: Ally Palmer (25th place women’s race), Robby Alexander (25th place men’s race), and Andrew Wallace (27th place men’s race).
