Introducing UCM’s Academic Marketing and Communications Team

Miami University’s Academic Marketing and Communications (AMC) team is dedicated to advancing the marketing and communication efforts of the university’s six academic divisions. Working in alignment with the university’s strategic vision, AMC directors create marketing strategies and communication plans that directly support the deans’ vision for their respective colleges.

What We Do

AMC directors are housed within each academic division. Reporting directly to University Communications and Marketing (UCM), AMC directors provide expert marketing and communications leadership, with dotted line reporting to their division’s academic dean. Their work goes beyond internal messaging—they are instrumental in:

  • Collaborating with Enrollment Marketing and Communications to support recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Developing strategies and communication plans that strengthen the division’s identity and academic brand.
  • Ensuring a consistent and engaging presence through social media, newsletters, webpages, publications, etc.
  • Writing, pitching, and promoting faculty expertise and student success stories to showcase the division’s impact.
  • Producing and overseeing the creation of advertisements and branded content that enhance Miami’s visibility.
  • Highlighting alumni successes to demonstrate the lasting value of a Miami education.
  • Assisting with securing media coverage, interviews, and news placements to amplify the division’s reach.
  • Partnering with University Advancement, the Center for Career Exploration and Success, and other campus offices to bolster communications to alumni, donors, student mentors, current students, and other audiences.
