What makes a candidate stand out to you during the recruiting and interview process?

Be yourself in interviews and conversations with companies. The best candidates we see are those who are genuine and excited to learn. We definitely don’t expect every candidate to be a professional in sales or logistics. However, if you’re ready and eager to learn, you’ll be extremely successful in the interview process.

What advice would you give students to set themselves up for success as they pursue internships and their post-graduation goals?

Hit the ground running and be eager to learn. The other biggest piece of advice I would offer is to network as much as you can. Many people find opportunities through word of mouth and building their network. You’ll also open countless doors in terms of building experience and knowledge.

What sets Miami University candidates apart from others?

Miami students always come to career fairs prepared. It’s phenomenal to interact with students who are excited to learn more about Echo and who are driven to further their careers. We always look forward to coming to Miami!
