If you upload videos to My Media in Canvas, they end up in the back end of Kaltura no matter what. Specific settings work best with Kaltura, or there are sometimes issues during the encoding process. Before you record, double check your settings in Kaltura Personal Capture or Screencast-O-Matic. The following directions will help you locate these settings in each application.
Kaltura Personal Capture
Kaltura works best with 720p or 1080p. If you don’t use one of these settings, the video will likely be blurry in Canvas. If you use one of these settings and your video is still blurry, please submit an IT help ticket for further assistance.
- Launch Kaltura Capture.
- Click Manage on the right side of the recorder.
- Select the Settings icon on the left side of the page (it looks like a gear).
- Select your camera and screen recording quality and click Save.
Screencast-O-Matic
- Launch the Screencast-O-Matic recorder.
- Select the Settings icon if it is not open already (it looks like a gear).
Select Size and choose either 720p or 1080p.
