In this week, we spent most of our time focusing on the many mechanics games have. We were given the opportunity to play a variety of different games, but this week me and a few of my classmates decided we wanted to play a scuffed version of poker. We grabbed the game The Gang, which is a cooperative poker game, and we decided that we just wanted to enjoy a few rounds of playing our own version of poker.
I think if we had more time and motivation to learn the rules of The Gang we would have enjoyed playing the way it was made to be played, but we just went for an easier route that most of us knew how to play already. The one who understood poker the most decided he would take charge and help others by being the dealer and just do a dry run for the first round, so that everyone understood the basics. This helped a lot because if he was not there we might have been confused on what to do most of the time and he kept the game going.
I think that this game is a fun and laid back game where you can play anywhere with anyone. All we needed was just a simple deck of cards and the chips were helpful as well but we didn’t really need them. It may not be the friendliest game for beginners but once people understand how to win and remain consistent it ends up being more about the luck of the cards that were handed to you.
