GOTW Cursed Court

Miami University

This week we played Cursed Court. Cursed Court is a competitive bluffing and deductive game that is super fun. It is all based on wagering on who will end up showing at the end of the game. So far this is my favorite game we played. I think that it is really easy to pick up and learn the rules to play this whenever and wherever. The best thing that I liked about it is that you can play this multiple times in a row and still enjoy each round. Just like in our in class game session, we finished our first game and entered right into the next game. Even though I came in last I still found that it was fun trying to strategize against my peers and taking that chance to win big in the end.

I would say that the hardest thing about this game is that there are so many possibilities and strategies that it might overflow your mind and make your decisions a little off track. I know that starting a round was difficult because you do not really have any information and I think it is easy to base your plays off of the players that went before you because they know something that you may not know. I know I say its the hardest thing about the game, but it might be the best thing that the game has because otherwise it would be just boring guessing random wagers.

There is not much leadership involved in this game since everyone is against each other, but in a way you can take lead of the group by bluffing or making big risks that could alter the flow of the game. I know that in our game we had a lot of leadership shown through just influencing others decisions either to be good decisions just because we wanted to help them out or to be a bad decision as a way to trick them in making the wrong move.

Overall, I think that this game is very simple and can be enjoyed by a lot of people. I could also see different versions of the game happening, maybe with different themes or mechanics, which would make the game much better if you get too bored of the original game.
