Student Worker Information

Miami students are paid to work shifts throughout the week to make the conference run more smoothly. The money that students earn by working this conference can be paid to an organization for a fundraiser. All positions will receive $10 per hour worked. Student jobs include:

Van Drivers

  • Shuttle conference participants to and from their hotels in the surrounding Oxford area.

Session Chairs

  • Introduce conference presenter(s) for assigned session.
  • Remind participants to complete evaluation forms at the beginning and end of the session.
  • Keep time for presenter(s) and signal the stopping point at the end of the session.

Meal Ticket Takers

  • The meals are at the Armstrong Student Center. 1 person will stand at the door collecting tickets.

Floater

  • Check attendees into conference, provide them with nametags, meal tickets, etc.
  • Provide directions and instructions during the conference.
  • Assist with other tasks as needed.

Student Registration Timeline

  • November 10: Initial schedules sent out
  • November 15: Final schedules are sent out
  • November 18: Deadline for canceling/changing shifts
  • November 19: Registration closes
