Dr. Gray met Jael on his first visit to Topeka, when she was starting out as a nurse.
He first interviewed her parents and brothers (she was not married at the time). She also helped explain the project to other Westboro Baptist interviewees.
In this clip, Dr. Gray asked about whether she experiences any empathy for her patients.

Hello,
I can relate to this interview as I have recently undergone a hospital work placement as a 1st year student nurse. Jael uses very accurate and appropriate key words to describe the role of a nurse delivering care to patients such as empathy and that nurses serve their patients. I really enjoyed watching this interview. I think it is important to learn about culture and religion. By appreciating a person’s beliefs and way of life we can understand the person better.
Glad that’s useful and educational.
