What makes a candidate stand out during the recruiting and interview process?
We are looking for students enrolled in an architecture or a construction management program who can problem solve, multitask, and work well independently or as part of a team. For internships, we hire students who have completed at least their third year and are familiar with the software used in our work such as Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office. We want people on our team who have a desire to learn, a strong work ethic, communication skills, and a great attitude.
What advice would you give Miami University students to set themselves up for success as they pursue internships and their post-graduation goals?
I would advise students to build relationships in the design community and to join associations dedicated to architectural and design causes. Try to work in many different areas to determine your passions. The more experience you can get the better!

We are currently looking for someone to join our project team as a paid intern. Help us to develop technical and design solutions under the direction of a senior architect/designer. Perform assignments while demonstrating an understanding of design methods, production of construction documents, material procurement, and construction administration.
