Where can I find reports for a Zoom meeting?

Reports for Zoom meetings can be found in both Canvas and our Zoom web portal (miamioh.zoom.us). However, you’ll be able to quickly and easily download a report for a class session held via Zoom while you’re in your Canvas course if your meeting was set up to have a specific date and time.

In most other cases, you’ll need to pull reports from your Zoom web account:

  • You’ve add a Zoom link to a Google Calendar meeting.
  • You scheduled a meeting in the Zoom web portal.
  • You held a meeting in your Zoom personal meeting room.
  • You scheduled a class meeting in Canvas that had no set day/time.
  • Your meeting had breakout sessions.

Note that if your class meeting had breakout sessions, your Zoom meeting report will initially show students entering and leaving your meeting each time they went into breakout rooms. However, you can collate all of their joining/leaving into one record if you instead pull your meeting report from the Zoom web portal.

Downloading Zoom attendance reports from Canvas

To find a Zoom meeting’s attendance report for a class you’ve scheduled in Canvas, simply go to your class, click the Zoom link in its navigation menu, then follow these steps:

  1. Click the Previous Meetings tab at the top of your meetings list. Note that as soon as a meeting has ended, it’ll automatically be moved over to this tab.
  2. Click the Report link to the right of the meeting’s name. A page will open that displays a list of all of your meeting attendees.

If you want to download a copy of your meeting report as a spreadsheet, just click the (A) Export as CSV File link that appears above your attendee list.

Also, note that you can find poll reports for a Zoom meeting within Canvas. On the Report page, just click the (B) Poll Report tab.

Downloading reports from Zoom

To view and download reports (either meeting attendance or poll results) from Zoom, you’ll need to go to our Zoom web portal (miamioh.zoom.us). Then, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Reports link in the menu on the left side of the page; the “Usage Reports” page will be displayed with options for different types of reports.
  2. Click the type of report you want: Usage will provide you with an attendance list, and Meeting will provide you with a list of poll responses. One goofy thing about reports in Zoom is that once you select the type of report you want, it shows a list of your meetings from only the past 24 hours. If the meeting you’re looking for is listed, skip to step 4.
  3. Set a broader date range in the From/To boxes near the top of the page, then click the Search button. More meetings will be displayed in your list.
  4. Click the blue number in the “Participants” column to view a meeting’s report. It’ll be displayed in a popup window.

Note that if you had breakout sessions during a meeting, its report will show students entering and leaving multiple times as they went into breakout rooms. However, once you click the (A) Show unique users checkbox, it’ll combine all of their comings and goings into one record of their complete attendance.

If you want to download a copy of your report as a spreadsheet, click the (B) Export button on the top-right side of the pop-up window.
