Our families continue to come together to support one another, including through the production and wearing of ribbonwork. In the top photo, Miami Nation Ambassador Tabitha Watson and Jr. Ambassadors Madison Cavender and Shannera McCoy wear ribbonwork designs as they dance at the annual Miami Nation Pow Wow. They are surrounded by their immediate and extended families who show their support by dancing with them. Below, three generations of the Walker family learn to create Myaamia Ribbonwork at a community workshop. Addison Patrick, a current Miami University student sits next to his grandmother Elizabeth Devers, while his mom Jennifer Patrick sits behind them. The revitalization of Myaamia Ribbonwork provides one additional way for Myaamia families to come together and express their Myaamia identity.
