We play moccasin game year round at community events with these game pads created by Karen Baldwin. Moccasin game is played with two teams–one team hides pieces under the pads and the other team then flips them over and earns points depending on when they find the pieces. Historically, the game would have been played with mahkisina ‘moccasins’ but today we use these game pads that are decorated with ribbonwork as a cultural reference to moccasins, which remind us of the history of the game.
