Starting at 11:00 am and running until 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 3rd, Miami University held it’s annual Fall Fest, welcoming students to the campus both for the first time and for another semester.
The weather for the event was a warm, sunny day, a curious break in the cool spell the area has seen over the past few weeks. Several staff and students agreed that it made for a very odd experience to see leaves changing and falling while the temperature was in the eighties.

Stands included games such as wheel-spins for prizes, clubs including Playlist and the Dungeons and Dragon’s, and student government and advisory groups.

While this year’s Fall Fest lacked the grill-out that was included in the Fall Fests and Spring Flings of previous semesters, they did still have the ever-popular Flub’s ice cream truck, which served creamy soft serve until 1 o’clock.

One of the stands included news, such as Professor Diedra Jacobsen, who received a grant to hopefully install new signs and benches leading to the small bogs behind the campus conservatory.

Others were simply focused around common interests.

One of these games, disc golf, seemed to be rather obscure, but proved to be very popular with those who tried it.

Fall Fest, along with its counterpart Spring Fling, happens every year at Miami University and is free to students. Meet the staff, check out clubs, and make new friends.
