Quisiéramos trabajar con los residentes de Storm Lake–o con personas del pueblo quienes viven en otro lugar–en esta investigación. Se puede participar de las siguientes maneras:
1. ¿Tiene usted una historia de migración a Storm Lake para conseguir trabajo u oportunidades nuevas? En particular nos interesa la inmigración internacional para entender la diversidad del pueblo. ¿Tiene usted memorias de la vida en Storm Lake desde 1980s/1990s, o antes, al presente? ¿Ha visto usted los cambios en el pueblo durante los últimos 40 años? ¿Fue usted parte de ese cambio? Nos gustaría grabar una entrevista con usted. Podríamos hacerlo por Zoom, por teléfono, o de la manera que usted prefiera.
2. ¿Tiene usted interés en las investigaciones de historia? Nuestra clase usa un sistema conectado al internet para analizar artículos en el Storm Lake Times y el Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune. Nos gustaría trabajar con personas a quienes les interesaría leer varios artículos entre 1980 al presente, y tomar notas sobre los artículos, e identificar a personas y palabras clave. Es muy fácil, y podemos enseñarle a usar el sistema en menos de 30 minutos.
Todos los documentos creados por este proyecto serán donados a Buena Vista County Historical Society, para ser archivados y estar disponibles para cualquier persona/entidad interesada.

We would love for Storm Lake residents–or people from the town located elsewhere–to participate in this historical research. You can do so in a couple of ways:
1. Do you have a story of migrating to Storm Lake for work or new opportunities? We are especially interested in international migration and capturing the diversity of the town and county. Do you have personal memories of life in Storm Lake from the 1980s/1990s, or before, to the present? Have you seen the town change in the last 40 years? Have you been a part of that change? We’d like to record an oral history interview with you. We can do this via Zoom, telephone, or another preferred way.
2. Do you have an interest in historical research? Our class is using an electronic platform to analyze past issues of the Storm Lake Times and the Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune. We welcome all volunteers who would enjoy reading various articles between 1980 and the present, taking notes about the articles, and tagging keywords and people to the records. This is easy to do, and we can provide the training in less than 30 minutes.
All of the records created from this project will be donated to the Buena Vista County Historical Society, for safekeeping for future generations.
