Parent/Child Interaction Study: An investigation into how deaf and hearing parents of young autistic children (ages 3-6) manage their children’s visual attention during play. This project aims to better understand how parents might use innovative and effective attention-getting techniques to increase opportunities for language learning. This study is currently funded by the NIH. Participants can be located anywhere in the US. Spanish/ASL Study: This study aims to understand what the cognitive predictors of language learning are, and if they differ between signed and spoken languages. If you are a Miami student in your first or second semester of ASL or Spanish, please consider filling out our screening and consent form here


Benefits of ASL Study: This study aims to find out if ASL might benefit autistic children in terms of their theory of mind and emotion recognition skills.
