Miami’s recreational department played a critical role in my experience not only as an undergraduate student but now in my daily life as the district athletic director for Ross Local Schools. Extracurricular activities such as sports serve such a unique role in student lives.

Golf
Pickleball
Tennis

Darrell Hallberg
Ruchelle Dunwoody

The recreation department was a very eye-opening experience for me. I knew I had a passion for interscholastic athletics and coaching. However, I wasn’t sure if leadership in that field would ever interest me. Working for Ruchelle and Darrell and taking leadership nuggets from both of them really helped shape me into who I am today as an interscholastic athletic director.

Find a hobby or passion for something that you didn’t know you had prior to beginning your Miami experience. It is a tremendous place with something for everyone!
