“Hero” by Adam Jon Miller

After Gao Zhisheng

with razor-sharp horns, capable of cutting down trees,

the beast stalks you day & eve.

it is Slow, it is Sinister: the CCP

wanders the banks of Your Euphrates.

it is Your Misfortune & Your Fortune.

you don’t appease —Never! —Never! not with

Our Sky betwixt the leaves, Leaves,

what’s more: it Never! Leaves,
