Imagine you are trying to send out information about an upcoming event that people can choose to attend. You’ve heard feedback that people need a calendar invite as a reminder because, as we all know, our calendars rule our lives – at least our work lives. Anyway, back to the story. So, you send out the email with the various details about the event and advise people to use the Google feature that converts the email to a calendar event.
And then!
Everyone on the email gets invited to the event you created……by each person that follows those instructions! Great feature!

- Open the email in Chrome
- Select “Create event” from the “More” menu at the top*
- Review the event details – and update for YOUR calendar entry:
- Date/time of the event
- Location
- Who you want to invite
- Content of meeting agenda
- Etc
- Click “Save”
My apologies for confusion about how this feature works!
*You should have “Create an event” as a choice – but some individuals have reported that this is not showing up. If you do not have this as a choice, go ahead and manually enter the event. We will be looking for a solution to why some people do not have this choice and publish the fix when we find it!

For an even easier way to create appointments from an e-mail message, look at the Boomerang Calendar extension for Chrome – http://www.baydin.com/ . The Boomerang for Gmail extension is also very useful.
I have noticed that if you are using preview panes this options does not appear. If you click the icon to open in its own window you can then use more and crate event.
