The Saxton lab is interested in how microorganisms in the aquatic systems respond to changes in their environment. These changes may be caused by human activities or may occur naturally. Our lab uses a combination of classical culture-based microbiological techniques and cutting edge high-throughput nucleic acid sequencing techniques.
