Miami welcomes new students and their families for 16 overnight orientation sessions between Wednesday, June 3, and Wednesday, July 1. During each orientation session, approximately 225 new students and their families will attend programs in the Armstrong Student Center and Shriver Center and stay in Beechwoods, Hillcrest, Stonebridge, and Havighurst residence halls. On select days, they will park along Western Drive and in nearby lots, including Bachelor and Cook Field. Orientation guests will also park along Maple Street on several days during orientation. Gravel Parking Lot at Church St. and Tallawanda Rd. Closing Oct. 20, 2014
The gravel parking area at the corner of Church St. and Tallawanda Rd. will be closed permanently as of October 20, 2014. This parking area, which was a temporary lot, will be part of the construction limits for a new residential facility being constructed. The paved lot at the corner of High St. and Tallawanda Rd. will remain in service. Since the entry points off Church St. will go away, the only entry/exit point for the remaining lot will be from High Street.
