Summer Orientation – Parking Restrictions

Miami welcomes new students and their families for 16 overnight orientation sessions between Wednesday, June 3, and Wednesday, July 1.  During each orientation session, approximately 225 new students and their families will attend programs in the Armstrong Student Center and Shriver Center and stay in Beechwoods, Hillcrest, Stonebridge, and Havighurst residence halls.  On select days, they will park along Western Drive and in nearby lots, including Bachelor and Cook Field.  Orientation guests will also park along Maple Street on several days during orientation.

Because the orientation program is reserving spaces where some staff, faculty and students typically park, Miami employees and students will have to park elsewhere.  The Campus Avenue parking garage will be available for use at no cost during orientation.   There will be parking restrictions on the south and west sides of Cook Field, the Bachelor lot, the Thomson lots, Western Dr., and Maple St. on various days during orientation; please see the list of restricted dates below.

Signs will be posted in the following areas restricting parking to only those vehicles displaying orientation parking permits.  Vehicles parked in these areas without orientation parking permits may receive parking citations.  If you have questions about where you or guests to your department/office should park during these dates, please contact the Parking and Transportation Services office at (513) 529-2224 or parking@miamioh.edu.
