Adventure Awaits: Miami Regionals Outdoor Club

By Avia Stoller—

Do you love the outdoors? Hiking? Camping? Canoeing or kayaking? Or perhaps something
a bit more adventurous, like whitewater rafting? If so, a new club just now forming on the
Regional campuses might be the perfect fit for you.

The Outdoor Club recently held two information meetings at Schwarm Hall. The purpose of this
organization is to discuss, plan, and take various outdoor or adventure trips such as the ones
mentioned above, plus possible mountain biking trips, state park exploration trips, and others.
All Miami Regionals students are welcome to participate, and students are also encouraged to
bring friends and relatives along. Whatever trips will be taken will be decided by the club’s
members, and new ideas are always welcome. Students can choose to join any trip that
catches their interest.

The staff advisor for this organization is Kyle Warren, the Regional Writing Specialist in the
Tutoring and Learning Center. As of this writing, two students have volunteered to be president
and treasurer (requirements of any student organization). All they really need now is as much
participation as possible from the student body. The first trip will be planned soon, so if you’re
interested in learning more or getting on the Outdoor Club’s email list, contact Kyle directly at
