A Note from The Director
When They Twinkle was crafted to reflect large themes projected in the other pieces of this project while addressing other topics in climate justice that are important to the playwright, Tyler Creech. Staying true to his passion for an entertainment aesthetic rooted in the occult, whimsical, and spooky, When They Twinkle is written around a fictional spirit box used by a neurotic parapsychologist to communicate with a ghost from the first Industrial Revolution.
Parapsychology is a field of study concerned with the investigation of evidence for paranormal psychological phenomena. It’s considered to be a pseudoscience (practices that claim to be both scientific and factual but are incompatible with the scientific method).
About the Playwright
Tyler Creech is a third year Theatre Major at Miami University and is both the playwright and director for When They Twinkle. He would like to thank the faculty of The Amos Music Library for entrusting the care of their facilities to him and the cast and crew of Mother Earth’s Gallery of Broken Things.
