How to Plant your Wrist-band

Wildflower Wristband

how to plant and care for the seed paper ticket

Step 1:    Finding the Seeds’ New Home!

The seed paper can be planted inside or outside! Fill a pot (or repurposed container!) ⅔ of the way with potting soil. Otherwise, find a good spot of earth. Partial shade will probably work best, but these wildflowers are hardy!

Step 2: Planting the Paper

Lay the paper on top of the soil, overlapping if needed. Then cover with an eighth of an inch of soil, pushing the paper under gently. Then give it a generous watering to start the paper’s decomposition process.

Step 3: Watering the Baby Plants

Remember: damp, not swimming. The first ten days are most critical for your baby plants, and you need to water them every single day just enough so that the paper stays moist.

Step 3: Caring for Spouts & Beyond

Keep the paper moist as before, but don’t overwater. Water as needed once the plants look strong and sturdy.

The wildflowers in the seed paper are a mix of Bird’s Eye, Clarkia, Black Eyed Susans, Sweet Alyssum, Catchfly, and Snapdragon. All but one of the seeds, the Black Eyed Susan, are annual flowers, meaning they only live for one season.
