Held In Her

Hannah Litt, a Miami sophomore with a major in Art Education and a minor in Art History, created Held In Her for the exhibition. The sculpture depicts a bronze woman held by a plaster hand. Litt explains that “feminine natural beauty is looked down on, yet so valued in masculine sectors as something to be held.”

The sculpture reflects Hannah’s identity as a Jewish woman, where she has learned “the power to be herself unapologetically, and yet be ready for shame and restriction from society.”
