Ishita Islam, a graduate student pursuing a Studio Art major at Miami University, submitted From land to land as her second artwork in the Student Response Exhibition.
The print uses found objects as the background for poetry, which also highlights humanity, identity, and dealing with change. Read her artist statement below:
“As there are winds of change
As there is passing of time
For me land is not round or square
Rather it’s connecting dots with line.
Strangers become friends,
& Friends might become far-to-see
We love the things we belong
& Also, the things we cannot see.
We live by loving thyself
& We live by loving others
We are a segment of nature
& Also are a fragment of universe.”
