The Classified Personnel Advisory Committee met on May 10 right here in our IT space at HOYT HALL! We spent the beginning part of the meeting with introductions. Marla Niebling, Director of Employee/Labor Relations, attended with two of her colleagues that recently joined the Human Resources Department as HR Generalists, Dondi Kuennen and Cynthia Brusman. We also welcomed a new CPAC member, Emma Lester!
While most of the meeting was discussion regarding the CPAC Conference on May 24 and campus committee updates, there was some interesting news to share of a new professional development program on the horizon! The Diversity & Inclusion Certificate Program is coming soon! This course will “help increase individual aptitude and knowledge, provide ongoing professional development opportunities to appreciate differing perspectives, and foster a more inclusive campus community and classroom environment.” It is expected that this course will be another opportunity to earn job enrichment points for Classified staff.
Next meeting is scheduled for June 14. This will be the last meeting I will be attending as my term on CPAC is ending.
