A large group of IT Services staff, their families, and friends descended on the east concourse of Millett Hall last Friday afternoon for the annual IT Services summer picnic. Although there is not an official tally of how many were on hand, suffice it to say, there were enough to provide a raucous and enjoyable atmosphere.
Fried chicken was provided, but there was also a large variety of main courses, side dishes, salads, desserts and drinks available so that no one would leave the north side of campus hungry or thirsty.
Once again this year the picnic also served as the venue for the hotly contested IT Services Cornhole Tournament and extravaganza. This year there were six teams competing for the coveted Cornhole Trophy of Champions. And, for the second year in a row, the trophy will spend the next year on the first floor of Hoyt Hall as the team of Leah Harris and Michael Robinson defeated Alan Ferrenberg and Ishmat Zerin in an epic battle of bag tossing.
Congrats to the winners and a huge thank you to everyone who helped organize and bring food and drink to this festive get-together. Also, thank you to all who attended, and if you could not make it to the event this year, we hope to see you next summer.
