Tammy will be talking about Dayton and Cincinnati’s role in popularizing the Funk music sound of the 1960s and 1970s. She will be focusing on key bands and record companies. Just a different way of looking at regional music history. The tentative title is “Riding the Groove: Interstate 75 and the Development of Funk Music.” She will be playing music and showing videos as well! Please come for her presentation on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 11am-12pm in Boyd Hall, room 107!
Tammy Kernodle is an amazing speaker and her knowledge of musical history is impressive. She was invited to participate in curating the music collection for the new Smithithsonian Museum of African American History.
