Roommate Agreement and Room Inspection Record

Miami University

The email below was sent to all on-campus residents from the Office of Residence Life regarding the roommate agreement and room inspection records they should complete prior to September 8, 2023.

Dear Resident,

As you are moving into your room, I want to draw your attention to two very important on-line forms. You can get to both items by logging into your online housing account (www.miamioh.edu/housingcontract). Click on the links at the top of the page after you log in.

ROOMMATE AGREEMENT:

You and your roommate(s) need to view the Roommate Agreement and talk with each other about each question.
After discussion/review of responses, one roommate submits your responses after which the other roommate “Agrees” to the responses. If one roommate makes changes to the responses, the other roommate will have to “Agree” again.
Resident Directors will review your responses to ensure that you have taken the Roommate Agreement seriously. Taking this process seriously now will help you avoid roommate conflicts later.
You should complete and agree upon your Roommate Agreement no later than Friday, September 8.

ROOM INSPECTION:

You and your roommate(s) need to complete your Room Inspection. This is for you to report any damaged or missing items in your room or campus apartment.
You will be charged for any damage in your room or apartment after move-out.
If you do not complete your Room Inspection by Friday, September 8, we will assume there was no damage when you moved in and all items were present and accounted for.

If you have any questions about either of these two items, please ask your RA or Resident Director.

Welcome to campus,

Rob Abowitz
