On March 7, 2025, the Terillium Case Competition was held at the Farmer School of Business, bringing together students in Accountancy and in Supply Chain and Operations Management to solve a complex business challenge. This year’s case, unveiled by Terillium’s President, Dave Woodworth ’89 (Finance), tasked students with selecting the most suitable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for a large auto supplier undergoing a technology upgrade.
The competition fostered collaboration among students from different majors, reflecting the cross-functional decision-making required in the business world. Participants worked in teams to:
- Tackle real-world business challenges in a rapidly evolving industry.
- Enhance critical thinking, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- Strengthen their résumés, positioning themselves for competitive job opportunities.
- Engage with business professionals from Terillium, as well as FSB faculty members.
- Receive valuable professional feedback from business professionals at Terillium, including Dave Woodworth, Evan Crew ’22, and Alyson Power ’24.
Several teams stood out for their in-depth research and well-supported recommendations in a field of strong competitors. The team that won 1st place and a $3,500 award includes Austin Bates, Fern Bick, Marshall Cloyd, Preston Hathaway, and Elaine Schaft.

The case competition was made possible by generous support from our partners at Terillium, especially David Woodworth, Steve May, Molly Monson, Evan Crew, and Alyson Power. The event was coordinated by Management Professors Monique Murfield and Peter Salzarulo, along with Accountancy Professors Qing Burke and James Zhang.
Competitions like these are instrumental in preparing students for the dynamic business environment, bridging classroom knowledge with real-world application. The Terillium Case Competition continues to serve as a platform for aspiring professionals to develop, connect, and succeed.
