CDC Modeling

Tuesday 4/27/21 Track I, 5:50 PM EDT

CLIENT:
Dr. Philippe Giabbanelli
CDC Division of Injury Prevention and Control
VISION:
The CDC Division of Injury Prevention and Control are interested in the effects of various intervention methods on adolescent suicide. Thus, they have contracted Dr. Phillipe Giabbanelli to work with suicide SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) in order to create a simulation model. Additionally, a web interface is needed for division members to run the model and access results.
MISSION:
The web portal allows researchers to interact with the simulation model, despite having no experience with computer programming or simulation modelling. The plug-and-play nature of the website allows those unfamiliar with the topic to interact with simulations having no outside help. Simulations are run on the server itself, which allows users to run simulations from any computer without the need for high performance hardware or extraneous software libraries and administrator privileges.
TEAM MEMBERS:
Megan Foreman, Michael Galgoczy, Josh Huddleston, Zack Zampa
