Configuring your WordPress Profile

September 1, 2011 | No Comments

Your profile contains information about you (your “account”) as well as some personal options related to using WordPress.

Non-Miami users can change their passwords. All users can turn on keyboard shortcuts, and turn off the WYSIWYG (Visual) editor, among other things.

Your username cannot be changed, but you can use other fields to enter your real name or a nickname, and change which name to display on your posts.

To configure your profile:

1. Log in to http://sites.miamioh.edu/path-to-your-site/wp-admin.

2. Click Profile. The Profile screen opens.

3. Adjust settings as needed:

  • Personal Options
  • Name
  • Contact Info
  • About Yourself

4. When you are satisfied with your changes, click Update Profile. A brief confirmation message appears at the top of the screen.
