February Highlights at the Art Museum

First Saturdays at the Museum are full of music and tour guides. Museumgoers enjoyed Music at the Museum featuring Miami music students followed by drop-in Docent tours. Our next Music at the Museum is Saturday, March 4 at 1 PM. Drop-in Docent tours are available on the first and third Saturdays through June 10 from 2-4 PM.

Art and Architecture History Capstone Students presented to a gallery full of patrons, faculty, family and friends in the Feb 8 celebration reception event for Experiencing the Divine: Devotional Practices of Islam, Judaism and Christianity. Our next exhibition program is March 8 from 5-7 featuring a panel of local religious leaders in a dialog on each faith’s devotional practices – LEARN MORE.

Also in February…

  • Classes and groups from across campus visited the exhibitions and explored works in our collection in our library.
  • Our Art Museum Student Organization (AMSO) met to learn about the new exhibitions and posed with their favorite piece in Current Forms as part of our “Show us what you’ve got” campaign.
  • Art Museum Student Workers and members of the Art Museum Student Organization worked the sculpture-making booth at the Spring Art After Dark event.
  • Our volunteer Docents kicked off the restart of our Girls Scout program where troops visit the museum and earn patches.
  • The Art Museum team welcomed a new team member, Elise Chevalier joined as our part-time Education Coordinator. Learn more in our March E-news.
